Body Love
One thing every single human being has in common on the planet is that we are all born with our own unique, gorgeous body.
It is literally the instrument or vessel that houses us through life from beginning to end.
As an adult, how we look after and care for our bodies is entirely down to us.
Many of us hold belief systems about our bodies that no longer serve us and are stopping us from caring and loving ourselves exactly as we are.
We get told things about ourselves from family, friends, and colleagues.
We get bombarded with images in the media and magazines about what the “perfect” body should be, what the “perfect” height should be and what the “perfect” weight should be.
What we can do is love and accept the body we have chosen for ourselves to experience our time here on Earth.
Think about something that you REALLY LOVE…
I mean REALLY LOVE.
Would you allow it to be neglected, abused, devalued or would you constantly put it or them down?
I am guessing the answer would be NO!
Then why do most of us do this to our own bodies?
Would you feed it with stuff that would harm it or would you want to nurture it and give the best you possibly could with the resources you had?
Our bodies work tirelessly for us and they are nothing short of miraculous. We don’t even think most of the time of everything that is working when we are going about our day to day lives.
Maybe we have parts of our body we battle with or dislike because they aren’t the ‘SAME’ as other peoples.
Maybe we are not making enough time for activities that nurture our bodies, for instance exercise, relaxation, or self-care.
Now we are beginning to accept as a society that self-care is a necessity not a luxury.
“Now is the time for you to love and accept every part of you exactly the way you are. When you start to fall in love with you, then miracles start to occur.”
What will we be covering in this exciting 6-week course?
- The relationship we have with our bodies and how this impacts our lives.
- What we feed our bodies physically, spiritually, and mentally and how we can monitor this and make any necessary changes.
- Setting realistic goals to help us reach our ultimate weight.
- Looking at and releasing any negative or limiting beliefs we have about ourselves that stop us from being the best that we can be.
- We will be examining small and achievable ways for us to feel good daily and how to instantly lift your spirits.
- We will be working with Emotional Freedom Technique or “Tapping” to release any blocks you may still be holding onto regarding your health and/or your weight.
- Setting and creating vision boards to have visual access to your desired outcomes, goals, dreams, and desires.
- Giving you an individual exercise plan and routines that reflect your current level of health and physical ability. The more we move, the better we start to feel about ourselves.
My Story
I have been in the dancing world pretty much all my life. It’s a tough dog eat dog world where body image and “fitting” in is prevalent.
I remember being told as a child that my feet were flat, I had a sticky out tummy and bum and my back was way too arched to be a dancer. Although I am a bloody good dancer!
I did win umpteen competitions from the ages of 9 to 14. Another blow was when my dad told me I was a has been at the tender age of 14. I think that truly took my pubescent confidence down to an all time low. It’s something that I will never forget even though I have now forgiven.
I am also petite and rocked into this world as an adult as a mere 4 foot 11 inches.
I would never have ‘cut it’ in the professional dance world.
I remember buying The Stage magazine every Thursday, eagerly looking through the auditions, in the hope of there being one that didn’t stipulate height.
It simply didn’t happen. The shortest height I saw was 5 foot 5 inches. Even with my best 5-inch heels I still wouldn’t make the mark.
I had also always had a weight problem and had ballooned to as much as 12 stone at 32 and almost disappeared when I developed anorexia at the age of 35. I have battled with weight all my adult life. Then it dawned on me after studying as an EFT Master and Body Love Coach that
YES, eat healthy, YES exercise, but ultimately, it’s the thoughts we have about ourselves that create our outer reality. Until we change how we see ourselves then we will always be on a yo-yo of dieting and that’s one thing this course DOES NOT ENCOURAGE.
There were so many deep-rooted beliefs I had about myself that needed to be pulled out by the roots and thrown into the trash.
Working on yourself is a lifelong process but society are beginning to accept this way of thinking more and more.
I went down the route of teaching dance and at first it really didn’t light the spark inside of me. It wasn’t what I really wanted to do but I guess I never felt good enough deep down.
Then I realised that through my teaching work, it was my mission to help others to feel good about themselves.
It was, and still is my job to bring out the best in people and allow them to experience their full potential and help them develop confidence and believe in who they truly are.
I have been teaching for over 30 years and have made a massive difference to thousands of lives during this time.
I also approach my work with a sense of fun because if we can’t laugh along the way, then it becomes a very dull journey. Life is about being light and being filled with laughter. Even in the face of adversity, there is always something to smile about.
If you want to join me on this journey, and start to flip the script of your life, and believe me it will take commitment on your behalf to release the limiting beliefs you have about you and your body image, then I cannot WAIT to work with you.
It’s about creating a new way of life that enables you to step into the best that you can be.
We ALL deserve to feel amazing! It’s time to look after the greatest gift we’ve been given from the inside out.
Come on! Together we can do this!
